At the same time, I am also writing up my PhD dissertation in the DFG-AHRC project \"From Icon to Abstraction\" at the University of Cologne in cooperation with the University of Birmingham. Here, I am studying how iconicity is used in silent gesture and sign by comparing gesture and sign data from Germany and the UK. I hold an M.A. in Language and Communication: Psycholinguistics from Radboud Univesity, Nijmegen, NL, and a B.A. in Language and Communication from the Philipps-Universität Marburg. I am also a board member of the Junge Sprachwissenschaft e.V.\r\n\r\nMy interests are in sign languages, psycholinguistic research methods and tools, statistics, and open science.
