Speaker: Annika Schiefner

I am a PhD student in the DFG-AHRC project "From Icon to Abstraction" at the University of Cologne, studying how iconicity is used in silent gesture and sign by comparing gesture and sign data from Germany and the UK. I hold a B.A. in Language and Communication from the Philipps-Universität Marburg, DE, and an M.A. in Language and Communication: Psycholinguistics from Radboud University, Nijmegen, NL. I am also an active member of the Junge Sprachwissenschaft e.V.

My interests are in sign languages, psycholinguistic research methods and tools, statistics, and open science. She/her.
