Workshop: Online resources and social media for modern Irish
This workshop is an introduction to modern Irish. Irish is a Celtic language spoken in Ireland. In the last hundred years, the number of speakers of Irish has been declining and it is mainly learned as a second language nowadays. From a linguistic point of view, Irish is quite interesting in comparison to other Indo-European languages, as it has some special features such as V1 order and initial mutations.
This workshop serves as an introduction to the learning of the Irish language. It will provide valuable resources, describe the presence of Irish in social media and how you can use these to your advantage when learning Irish.
