Lecture: Investigating usage of gender cues during pronoun resolution in Chinese-English bilinguals: An eye-tracking study
Speaker: Yin Jue Chang
Previous studies have shown that gender information is used rapidly when resolving a pronoun in English. We are interested in how native speakers of languages without pronoun gender features (such as spoken Chinese) use this information when learning English. We will be using a visual world eye-tracking paradigm to investigate the online processing of this process.
