Speaker: Vass Verkhodanova
Dr. Vass Verkhodanova is an Assistant Professor of Voice Technology at University of Groningen. Vass has a background in applied and computational linguistics as well as in phonetics and speech technologies. In 2013-2016 Vass worked on automatic detection of hesitation phenomena in Russian spontaneous speech in St.Petersburg, Russia and in 2017 she changed her focus to studying how listeners recognize speech of people with Parkinson’s disease for her PhD research in University Groningen, the Netherlands. Currently, Vass’ interests lie mainly in the fields of clinical phonetics, prosody, multilingualism and speech technologies.
