Workshop: An Introduction to Toki Pona
The minimalist constructed language with only 137 "words"

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of Toki Pona, a constructed language that aims for minimalism to declutter your mind and encourage reflection on the world around you. Toki Pona was created by Sonja Lang in 2001. Its core vocabulary consists of 137 words, and its grammar is intentionally kept simple. Today, Toki Pona is one of the most popular constructed languages.
This workshop will teach you how to form basic sentences in Toki Pona. After introducing the language's history, purpose, and key grammar rules, I will provide translation exercises for discussion. The workshop doesn't require any prior knowledge of the language. You don't need to bring any materials; just something to write with.
How would you express a thought with only 137 morphemes?
