Speaker: Veronika Agamova

Hello, my name is Veronika and I am a recent graduate of Linguistics from Higher School of Economics Moscow. As a teaching major, I'm interested in exploring new and unique teaching methods and incorporating them into my own establishing pedagogical style. My main research interest is studying conceptual metaphors and how the way we perceive the world get reflected in the word choice. In my opinion, one of the most interesting manifestations of this individual world view is the appearance of linguistic creativity, in particular, metaphorical creativity. It's truly fascinating how unlimited metaphors can be, being used in all major social contexts.
